我是一名拥有30多年经验的中文教师。 多年来，我曾指导过各类中小学生，其中包括有学习困难的孩子。我相信，只要给予适当的支持、鼓励和正确的学习方法，每个孩子都能取得进步。
I am a Chinese Language Teacher with over 30 years of experience. Over the years, I have worked with primary and secondary school students, including children with learning difficulties. I believe that every child can improve with the right support, encouragement, and learning method.

Learner’s Station supports primary school children with Chinese dyslexia through simple, step‑by‑step Mandarin lessons, parent guides, and home practice tools designed to make Chinese reading easier and build confidence.

读写障碍课程
Chinese Dyslexia
帮助学生解决在学习华文华语时所面对的困难：
*记汉字
*朗读不顺畅、常跳字、跳行、加字或减字
*字体潦草、常写错汉字的笔画、笔顺
*掌握汉字的结构
*注意力不集中，容易分心
This curriculum is suitable for pupils who have difficulties:

梁丽梅老师是学习站的创办人，毕业自新加坡国立教育学院和北京师范大学，曾担任一所小学的母语部门主任。
在学校执教时，梁老师发现一些聪明伶俐的孩子一直无法把华文学好，他们尤其在认汉字和书写汉字时显得力不从心，于是她动手做一些简单的教具来帮助他们学习华文华语。一段日子后，这些孩子确实取得了很大的进步。这更激发了梁老师想帮助其他学生的决心。
在2012年，梁老师报读了 Orton Gillingham Approach的课程，让她认识到学生在学习华文时所遇到的障碍是可以解决的。为了帮助学生克服障碍，梁老师花了一年多的时间编写教材和制作教具去协助学生学习。她深信经过精心设计的课程，并采用多种感官的方法去教导学生，一定能帮助学生提高识字、阅读和朗读的能力。
Ms May Leong is the founder of Learner’s Station. She graduated from the National Institute of Education (Singapore) and Beijing Normal University, and formerly served as the Head of the Mother Tongue Department at a primary school.
Throughout her teaching career, Ms Leong observed that many bright and capable students struggled with learning Chinese, particularly in recognising and writing Chinese characters. Determined to help them, she developed simple yet effective teaching materials that enabled her students to make remarkable progress. Their success inspired her to help more children overcome similar learning challenges.
In 2012, Ms Leong completed professional training in the Orton-Gillingham Approach, gaining deeper insights into the learning barriers many students face in acquiring Chinese literacy. She then spent more than a year developing a comprehensive curriculum, together with specialised teaching materials and learning aids to support students with diverse learning needs.
Ms Leong believes that a carefully structured curriculum, delivered through a systematic multisensory approach, builds a strong foundation in Chinese literacy. Her programme enables students to recognise Chinese characters with greater ease, develop fluent reading skills, and become confident, successful learners of Chinese.

"Growing up with May as my elder sister is both fun and humbling. We took Chinese as the first language for our primary school education in the 1980s at the then Nan Chiau High School, a local institution renowned for its excellence in the teaching of Chinese.
She followed her passion to become a teacher and did a great job in school. She was appointed as the head of department for mother tongue by the time she left the education service in the mid-2000s.
May not only takes pride in her work as a teacher but she also devotes special attention to all needy students in class. Her attitude and professionalism is not just admirable but a virtue that I constantly aim to emulate."
Dr Leong Chan-Hoong is a Senior Fellow at a global think tank in a local university. He has published widely on Singapore issues, especially on matters relating to immigration, identity, and governance. Dr Leong is bilingual and read a PhD in psychology. He has consulted for various international agencies and professional organisations.
